Starting from the evolution of the first variable resistance machines created by Arthur Jones, in 1995 Medical Exercise Center (M.E.C.) is founded by Dr. Michael Fulton (Medical Director of Nautilus, Executive President of Medx Corp., Professor and Founder of the Spine Research Center of Florida University, Founder of the American Rehabilitation Association, winner of Multiple Research Awards, etc.) along with Michael Sánchez (Coach, Team Captain, Athlete, Technical Director, Commissioner of the IWF, Founder of the Latin-American Association of Water Skiing, World Champions and Record Holders’ Coach, etc.), with the objective of developing exercise protocols in the medical-clinical areas, as well as in physical preparation.
During 1997 the first Medical Exercise Center (M.E.C.) worldwide is founded in Caracas, Venezuela, and in 1999 it expands its operation opening a second center located in the Centro Médico Docente La Trinidad.
In 2002 MEDEX exercise center is born, as the result of the alliance with a multitasking group of specialists: doctors and physical trainers, among others. From 2003 on an international expansion stage starts, with the opening of several centers in Tenerife, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca (Spain). From 2010 on, MEDEX widens its infrastructure and services offer in Venezuela, creating its new state of the art center, which is also its showroom, located at the same medical facility.
MEDEX is currently an organization expanding through Latin America to countries like Colombia, Mexico and Brazil.
